You hear it all the time, are you getting enough Omegas in your diet? Are you eating enough fish? Well I can safely say that I’m not. I know fish is good for you but I’ve been having a hard time getting it in. This is truley frowned upon since I am from the East [...]
I’m not as lucky as my brother who is gallivanting Virginia’s mountains. If you have time, check him out on Facebook (or here) if you’re wondering what the terrain looks like.
Trips’ = What I call triple workout days.
So I had back to back trips’ concluding today. Lots of swim, bike and run.
[...]
Finished Racing Weight by Matt Fitzgerald last week. Picked it up in California so I’m not sure if it is available in Canada yet.
The book is about how to eat (no kidding) for a better performance. Fitzgeralds writing style is a bit wordy but I think anyone could get into it. That is [...]
You are what you eat. So you eat ham, are you a pig?
I eat mostly healthy. Like you eat veggies with gravy?
I don’t have time to make supper. But you have time to watch 2 hours of tv?
I hate cooking. Is turning on a stove that complicated?
Food is such a [...]
Yes I know, I’m very late writing in from my recent race. I was reminded that I SHOULD have a race report up at least 12 hours after. Sorry folks. Next time I’ll pre-save what I think is going to happen and then put that up. Might not be accurate but hey, it’ll give [...]
Well I’m here chillin’ in California. Have my shorts on, window open and feet up for the time being.
My flight into San Diego was a long one. It started off well though as I came through customs I was asked the nature of my trip. I said to race an Ironman. The security [...]
Did a 10K on the weekend, Running Room St. Patricks Day race, to test the leg speed. I’m always impressed what the body can do on tired legs. After leading from start to finish I finished in an overall time of 34:06.

There are not many athletes who can honestly say that their performance is never affected by mental or psychological factors. Almost everyone who competes or attempts to do their best at some important aspect of life has experienced both mental boosts and hindrances. Doubts, confidence, anxiety, poise, courage and fears for example can have [...]
If you follow this site, you’d think that New Years was in August! everyone is talking about the end, or being finished or I’m glad that’s over! Yes it was quite the month with Mom, TJ and Amanda finishing off their training years with their “A” races.
I was lucky enough to coach two of [...]
After a weekend of racing, I’ve given my body sometime to recover. As you’ve probably read from the previous posts, I had a decent outing at the races(except my swimming!). I’ve heard my name mentioned as the “new guy” but also in the same sentence “who can’t swim”.
To defend myself, I say if I [...]
Great results across the board from our athletes.
On Saturday Cliff and Amanda both took age group honours (and 5th/7th overall in their respected genders) in the Meech Lake Triathlon.
Sunday a cluster f$%k of awards were given out to our athletes. Almost all were competing in the Duncan Hadley Triathlon in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
[...]
Today Amanda and I traveled to Barry’s Bay for our second triathlon of the season. This race was a 750 swim, 33K bike and a 8K run.
It was an early morning for the both of us as we left the house at 5:30am for the 2 hour drive. The race site reminded both of [...]
