2009 Ain’t Over Yet…

If you follow this site, you’d think that New Years was in August! everyone is talking about the end, or being finished or I’m glad that’s over! Yes it was quite the month with Mom, TJ and Amanda finishing off their training years with their “A” races.

I was lucky enough to [...]

Back 2 Back…

After a weekend of racing, I’ve given my body sometime to recover.  As you’ve probably read from the previous posts, I had a decent outing at the races(except my swimming!).  I’ve heard my name mentioned as the “new guy” but also in the same sentence “who can’t swim”.

To defend myself, I say if I could [...]

LMS Puts In A Solid Weekend!

Great results across the board from our athletes.

On Saturday Cliff and Amanda both took age group honours (and 5th/7th overall in their respected genders) in the Meech Lake Triathlon.

Sunday a cluster f$%k of awards were given out to our athletes.  Almost all were competing in the Duncan Hadley Triathlon in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Evan Pemberton finishing [...]

A Couple of AG Victories

Today Amanda and I traveled to Barry’s Bay for our second triathlon of the season.  This race was a 750 swim, 33K bike and a 8K run.

It was an early morning for the both of us as we left the house at 5:30am for the 2 hour drive.  The race site reminded both of us [...]

To the Tri-girls Out There!

(Warning: due to the graphic nature of this article husbands/boyfriends/ men in general may want to skip this article!)

A few weeks ago Cliff and I decided to dial in our TT positions to make them more aero but also more comfortable. We arrived at a position that I thought would work for me. The next [...]

LMS Athletes Podium On The Weekend

What was described as one of the toughest races ever by both Amanda Lohnes and Cliff Worden-Rogers, it was all they could do to finish the tough 5peaks race at Tremblant on Saturday.  Both athletes put in a great effort, Amanda finishing 2nd (woman) and Cliff finishing 3rd (overall).

The course had very little description besides 230m of [...]

Odot Half Race Report

Last fall, after completing the Fall Colours Half Marathon, where I posted a 1:49:52, I pronounced to Cliff that I wanted to do a sub-1:40 half in the 2009 Ottawa Race Weekend. While knocking off  9 minutes in a few months might have sounded  a little overambitious, I was pretty sure that I could do [...]

Believe in the System!

In order to tune up for my ½ marathon coming up in 2 weeks from today, ‘coach’ had me sign up for a 10km charity race on Saturday, May 9th called “Run for Kenya.” It was being put on by a school in Kanata, with [...]

Still Truckin’

So even though I have been absent from LMS for a little while, I am still on the training wagon. I am now 3 weeks out from my 1st race of the season, a ½ marathon during the Ottawa Race Weekend. So I decided in the fall that after I completed [...]

Race Report: Really Cool Prediction Run

So a few weeks ago, coach mentioned that I should do a race soon, to see where I am with my training. I was going to do the Winterman race 10km next weekend, but $45 for a 10k race seemed a little steep. So Cliff mentioned that his Hammertime Coach, Rick, was putting on a [...]
