Saturday was to be my last tune-up race before the “Big Race” at Timberman on August 23rd. Training has been going well and I’ve been proud of myself that I have been able to maintain my training along with working the past 2 weeks. Having a job and training is hard on the head sometimes [...] Getting A Sniff A weekend in the life: Friday 5pm – Work is over for another week! Today I took off completely so I drive home. 7pm – Costco after a dog walk with Figs. 9pm – Help Amanda make sure she hasn’t forgotten anything for her race in the morning. 9:45pm – Hit the [...] Sunday dawned clear and the promise of hot hot heat … a perfect training opp as we headed bright’n’early to the Valley. Too bad I’d had a crappy sleep, bumping my hip hematoma twice in the night – a jarring painful, take-my-breath-away experience.
