  • So, is Lance lucky or tactical in todays stage?

Who do you think is going to take the TTT?

  • Jen

Lance was lucky. BUT he knew enough to see an opportunity and take it. As was Cancellara. And I beat Contador is mighty steamed! LOVED the interview with Georgie afterward. As Phil Liggett says, “And the take away is, don’t get George Hincapie angry!” Indeed!

Is anyone else PO’d that Versus has a freakin’ “Astana” jersey marker on the status bar. Really VS? Really???

  • Yeah I don’t get Versus… But from what I’ve seen they are going Armstrong crazy!

When I read that the break was happening (good ol’ velonews with their live updates) I thought back to when Vinnie did the same tactic a few years ago. This was infact, the same part of the course as it was then. You’d think people would learn!

Now, did Lance send Contador back to get a bottle knowing this… Conspire conspire.

  • TJ

naw… i bet asatna has a secret rule, whoever has the best time after stage 3, youll be the team leader.

i think its lance against the world. go lance! im subject to bad versus interviews and velonews.com, and when georgie told him they gased it, but that it was worth destroying the peleton i lost it! go hore-hay!

  • TTT today. Does Lance lead the team across the line first or does he let Contador go? Either way Lance gets yellow if Astana can win by more than 19s.

I think it would be smart if they let Saxo Bank win the TTT. That way Astana wouldn’t have to carry the jersey. But I think they have too much horse power to lose. Unless they crash…

    • Jen

Best quote so far for the day from Lance in response to Astana team dynamics, “Well in my opinion there have always been two leaders for the team.” hmmmm … wonder if Contador concurs. ;)

  • So if Astana was ahead by 40.11 seconds, doesn’t that mean it’s MORE than 40? Shouldn’t Lance be in yellow?

I think this is going to help them out anyway. There not going to rely on their domestiques (all 4 of them).

Cancellllaaaarrraaa is the man. I hope he wins the Tour.

    • Jen

Conspiracy Theory #2 … 5th man across the line for Astana? Lance. Figure he knew he’d take the maillot jaune if he hung on so he held back enough to just be out by seconds? Bullseye is off him and Saxo-Bank’ll have their work cut out for them tomorrow while Astana can ride the easy train?

Did you see who got the bling on the podium? Yah. Sure Contador was in the front row but who shook everyone’s hand on the way off. Still think ol’Alberto is team captain??

    • Jen

Okay. Just read this on Robbie McEwen’s twitter:

I’m sure @Lancearmstrong did that on purpose to leave cancellara in the jersey. He sat up in last 50m. Nice. I repeat, LA will win.

      Can I call’em?? Oh. Yah! :D

  • Oh Ben Stiller “I’ll take races under 1 minute”. Does anyone know what his next role is? He looks like a barbarian or a hippie with his hair!

I bet Lance had his bike washed and conditioned after the cameras left.

    • Jen

While playing along I still think Lance looked a little disconcerted while Ben was on his bike. Can’t blame him though. And really, Stiller, cut yer hair already, dirty Yank!

  • Jen

Stage 5: WOOT Good on ya little French Thomas. Just goes to show, sometimes the breakaway doesn’t get caught!

  • Cliff

If your like me and don’t have OLN, you can watch it online or on veetle.com.

I missed todays stage. Ol Tommy boy. He’s in every tour… Kinda like the devil.

    • Jen

Voekler’s face was priceless as he headed down the chute. He kept looking back, you could see him thinking, “Where IS everyone?!?” France’ll be celebrating tonight!

  • Cliff WR

I don’t like David Millar. I’m glad he lost today.

Mick Rogers should also try skipping the tour; it’s not good for his health.

    • Jen

urg! That last run into Barcelona was SCARY. Poor ol’Boonan shoulda kept up with the coke. Thor looked so pleased with himself, *clap* *clap* *clap* “Look at me. I am so very clever.” And where in the hell did Cav get to???

  • Amanda

No comments yet on Levi’s broken wrist! How is this gonna hurt Astana?

  • Cliff WR

    Levi!

What about Lance! Goddamn you old man! He’s already talking about next year… Thats not a good sign. Not even Cadel is giving up and he should!

    • Jen

Loved Robbie McEwen’s twitter – Congrats Contador. The Fat Lady is clearing her throat but it’s still a long way to Paris. ;)

I think those were crocodile tears during the interview w/Ventura. I think LA’s gonna try and bury Contador in the TT.

    • TT…

Everyone is hoping for the fairy tale ending. Don’t know if thats going to happen.

Armstrong better watchout for Wiggins as well.

    • Jen

Just to keep the record straight, I don’t necessarily *want* LA to win. I just think that’s what he’s going to do. Frankly, after watching Contador go all mountain goat on Verbier yesterday, he deserves to stay in yellow until someone can take it away from him.

  • Cliff WR

    LAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEE

    • Jen

30 seconds after Lance made his move, OLN went out. For 20 minutes!! You can imagine the flurry of profanity. And grabbing computers to tune in to versus.

The old man still has some “it”, huh?!?

    • Cliff WR

What?!! I would have thrown the TV down the stairs. I think the cycling world stopped turning for a second so the old guy could climb back on.

      Thats good bike racing.

I hope drugs are not in the mix…
