Wow what a week! After feeling like crap on Monday and Tuesday the body responded with a good day on Wednesday, ok on Thursday, bad Friday, great (but hard) Saturday and a recovery Sunday.
Saturday, it was going to be 26 degrees a great day for a long ride. I saddled up for my first ride with the TT bike. First time I used it since Florida.
So it was breezy, one of those days where you don’t need to pedal (which means hell on the way back). I was cruisin at a fair clip getting lost in the plains of Ottawa. No map, 2 bottles of water and 1 gross power bar (apple I hate them). It’s one of my favorite things to do, just ride and discover new places.
Another note, I was reading the paper and I came across a post about hiking across England. An across country voyage which is roughly 330K (880 up and down). I was thinking it would be fun to run it. Do 40-50K a day and soak up the scenery. I’d also like to try doing Iceland as well. I’ve heard that it would be a great country to visit.
Now that I think of it.. I wonder what it would be like to run/bike across Europe? It’s my next Continent of interest. Maybe I’ll put some more thought into doing it later on.
I’ve been thinking a lot about doing quick weekend flights to places on interest. Fly on a Friday, just bringing a pair of sneakers and run through the city of choice. I’d cycle in some spots if I could rent.
Ahh it’s nice to day dream. So many places, so little time.
