Two things I haven’t done in awhile: run for 2 hours and do a 4 hour workout. I successfully completed both of those today! Another round of Hammer Time Long Course in the books!
This week we had a 2 hour run followed by a 2 hour ride. The run consisted of a 2 hour block with the following 30min rotations :15 mins easy (4:45k/min) followed by 10mins of temp (4:00-4:30 depending on thr footing) and 5 mins hard (sub 4:00). The time seemed to fly by today which was great!
My biggest fear is always bonking (not taking in enough nutrition Nanna). I did manage to keep ingesting about 200-250 calories per hour which seemed to hold me through. There were some tough parts like right at the end of the bike! I was toast!
Yesterday I spent sometime putting together my schedule for the year. It looks like I’ll be doing 16 weeks (or 4 blocks) of base followed by 12 weeks (or 3 blocks) of build and then about 6 weeks of peaking. Maybe a little less of a peak but I’m going to try and race a lot in August.
Then the fall will be reserved for training for an Ultra Marathon. What that race is I don’t know yet. I’m thinking I’d like to try a 50 miler or possibly an 100K. I figure the fall is the best time to do it as the weather (for cycling) is so unpredictable.
Anywho. Due to my moms requests I have some more Figs pictures for everyone. The little guy is not so little anymore! Although he is still the talk of the dog park when he shows up!

Rock on with the Ultra! I think that’d be a very cool thing to do. Better get through JUST a marathon first though huh?!?
